Trials...

A meeting of nine of the richest men in the world at that time took place at the Edgewater Beach Hotel in Chicago in 1923. Among those who attended this meeting were the President of the world's largest independent steel company, President of the largest gas firm, President of the New York Stock Exchange, and a member of the President's Cabinet. Twenty-five years later, three of them had become bankrupt before they died, one became insane, two were in prison, and three of them had committed suicide.

Many people think of fame and fortune when they measure success. However, at some point in life, most people come to realize that inner peace and satisfaction of the soul come not from fame and fortune, but having lived a life of righteousness.

money isn't everything in life, being happy is.

happiness is the essence of being.

You can say that again Dette! Ha ha ha. But the truth is, everybody loves money. And for me, having "just enough" is more than enough.

people think being on top you own the world, no..it's lonely up there and eventually by its course you'll fall down and ended up being alone.

a financial guru once told, " I will teach all of you to become rich, but I warn you, you will not be happy anymore".

So you believe money can not buy happiness?

that's a tough question @Boysie.

actually In my personal opinion, it's a case to case basis. we all know that people in developed & rich nations are happier compared to those people in poor countries, so money played a very big part for the satisfaction of the people in rich nations.

however, if you are living in a rich country for example the US, identifying happiness is a little bit more complicated. people in this country have goals to accomplished. after only accomplishing one's goal then the person will find happiness, but that happiness is only temporary because after another day you will continue your life again & proceed to another goal. So, in my own opinion, happiness is not always there, you have to earn it & after earning it you will enjoy it & after that it's back to normal, you will proceed to another goal to find the next happiness.

this is true when we graduated from highschool, we are very happy, we have happiness. but in the next morning we are again in our goal to go to college & finish it. after graduating college, we find happiness again, but in the next morning it's back to normal, we are again in our next goal to find job. & so on & so forth.

that's why the constitution of the United States mentions about Life, Liberty & the Pursuit of Happiness.

Of the three, only Happiness has the word Pursuit before it. Because the people who wrote this knew by then that people in this country will find Life & Liberty, but Happiness, they have to pursue to find it, & it's a neverending pursuit. Today you find it, the next day you are again in the next Pursuit of Happiness

Your comment is so true and I could summarize it in one word - CONTENTMENT. We (humans) never ran out of it!
