Shifting Sands
It took a while for me to choose a blog title. But somehow, Shifting Sands really stands up in my list of choices. Maybe because the Arabian desert has inspired and captivated my strong passion of the vast and empty wilderness, its mystery and romance. Where the endless sea of sand bury the secrets of its past and the present. Only the brave would dare tread its uncharted borders without any promise of a reward at the end of the journey. Nature rules supreme. Hot days and cold nights, human is under its mercy. Even the footprints you make. It too will be wiped away by the shifting sands. Just like the desert, life’s journey in this word is a struggle. Like its sea of sand, it welcomes you with arms wide open. But who can stop a man’s thirst for pleasure and fulfillment except himself? Who would embrace him in comfort in times of failure and despair when he’s cold and alone in the dark? Life is as vast and empty as the desert. Only the brave dares to tread.

very passionate, I really love this, I can feel the writer's emotion.
it's true. the desert is an unforgiving place. I experienced it too. superlative is a good description. extreme heat during summer which goes up to 50 degrees centigrade. extreme cold during the winter which goes down below zero. but no ice formation occurs due to extremely low humidity.
not only that, the attitude of the citizenry is also extreme. blaming all those who come to their country for all the faults they did. diversity of religion, beliefs & culture is not acceptable.
But what to do? we are in their country to work & even considered by our own government as modern-day heroes.
Anyway, our only comfort is to find refuge to the saying which goes, "whosoever tried to find bread in the desert is the real man."

he is trying to relate the desert in other peoples lives.
most people, though not in desert but have their own problems, worries, loneliness which can be considered a life's desert too.
yep...life miseries is a person's desert as well.
