Hi Odette and Bryan! It is a chance of a lifetime for non-Muslims to join the Muslims in observing Ramadan. Fasting is an old practice dating back ages ago and it really works wonders to the human body. It gets rid of the impurities accumulated inside over a year of overeating and abuse. On the other hand, it also builds up you empathy towards the less fortunate, how it feels to be poor, deprived and hungry. At the end of the day, it is not who we are Muslims and non-Muslims but who we are as humans all equal in the eyes of God willing to share the blessings and expecting nothing in return.
hey cousin, i used to fast before but we got up early morning before the fast starts, eat a lot enough for the whole day, when the fasting breaks at 6p.m. I was still full. It's not cheating coz that's what it is right? every Muslim I know did the same thing. Before I was into it, I was always worried with my Muslim co-workers of not having food whole day, then I learned the trade. Anyways, fasting is good for our body system. In my Church, our prayer warriors fast once a week and stays in the church whole day and pray. It's a part of devotion and sacrificial to God. So Fasting benefits us not only spritually but also physically. Advance EID MUBARAK in case i couldn't catch you.
